Alchemia Consulting Website

by madbunny on Aug.26, 2010, under Code, News

Once my eyes were opened to the wonderful platform that is Word Press, I couldn’t resist recommending it to clients, old and new. It provides such a simple way to have both the ease of maintenance of content for people with little or no comfort when it comes to coding a website, and the power for an administrator/designer behind the scenes to tailor the site to look just like a normal, flat site.

This was one of those cases, and I was happy to help. Sheri had already been debating the option of using WordPress but wasn’t getting very sustainable offers for implementation of such a plan. She had a sharply designed site, so that part was done. All I needed to do was install Word Press, templatize the pages to look like her current site and bring in the page content. For a small site, it was fairly simple. Now she can maintain page content easily enough, run a blog and not be chained to some web design agency trying to nickle and dime her to death for updates.

We finished and launched earlier this week, and there is still plenty of room to grow too. I look forward to working with her company and helping out where I can in empowering people to manage their own web content.

HTML Email Campaigns

by madbunny on Apr.30, 2010, under Code, Design

URL: Enlarge
Structure: HTML 4 (basic email setup)
Details: A simple HTML formatted email promoting various offers for a travel/vacation service. The design and coding were done by me, the photos of the properties were provided, as well as links to the relevant properties.

Part of the campaign was done for different local travel agencies, but the basic layout remained the same on all of them. Each regional location had a slightly different look to it, which occupied the top half of the email.

ActionEco.org Website

by madbunny on Mar.30, 2010, under Code

URL: http://www.actioneco.org/
Structure: XHTML, CSS, Word Press template
Completion Date: 2010

This was a fun and interesting project because I had not previously delved very far into using Word Press. Now of course I think it is one of the best platforms for establishing a site with an easy user interface, especially for those who want to make posts and entries like a blog.

The original design/template was purchased and a graphic designer put their spin on it for the final look, so it was then my job to augment the templates to fit the desired look. There were quite a few specialty codes needed to get some of the added functionality that the clients required, which was the fun part.

All in all, a great coding project and I enjoyed working on it thoroughly.
