In America, people would think of that as "stepping on the author's toes" or some other deviant behavior. It's not like that at all, in a way it's a way of showing one's admiration. Most commonly, doujinshi involve the .. "other side" of the characters, perhaps that was not even part of the original storyline. Many of these end up being adult only doujinshi, though some become anthologies of the characters but in a different story than the original creator placed them in. It's a great way to see your favorite characters in a different situation and sample some different art styles.
Gravitation has a series of doujinshi, done by the circle Crocodile-Ave, with Maki Murakami herself as an artist. Therefore, the artwork is the same as in the manga .. all the characters look exactly as they normally do, just in some rather compromising situations. I'm not going to post pictures of the insides of the doujinshi because this site has not adult check verification system. Just trust me when I say that ... the Remix Graviation series is very sexual, and very ... interesting. It's worth getting them if you can find them. Doujinshi are nototrious for being hard to find and are usually unable to be special ordered. It shouldn't have to be stated, but just in case ... the manga is SHOUNEN-AI ... the doujinshi are YAOI. Believe it or not, there is actually a difference. *sweatdrop* Ask me if you wanna know .. ^_^
Regarding the doujinshi, it consists of 12 volumes. The pairings and brief summaries are listed below along with cover shots. Now, there are two compilation books (3+4+5 and 1+2) as well as all the volumes individually. I happen to have the former, so that is what is pictured here. If you have questions about any of them, feel free to email me and ask.

Curious about who is in which doujinshi? Who is the uke (bottom) and who is the seme (top)? Well, here's a brief run-down on who's in each volume. As time permits I'll come back and add more in the way of summaries to them. Most of the time, Shuichi is gonna be an uke, same for Ryuichi. There's only one volume where Yuki is an uke. The volumes with ASK in them, can get a little violent, Ma-kun is a little rough and is usually bullying Taki. [U] = uke, [S] = seme
